They did not get to play It's All Gonna Break because they came to the end of their alotted time, the crowd tried to convince them to keep going, but the next act on stage was the Red Hot Chili Peppers and they were angry that BSS was going to cut into their time. The act before BSS went long so their set was shortened and they tried to keep going but were told their amps and mics would be cut off if they continued.

That is unfortunate. The same thing happened at Bonnaroo this year but they just said "Fuck it, we'll keep playing" and played It's All Gonna Break past their allotted time. By half an hour. Luckily they were the last act on that stage.

Actually, although Matisyahu was allowed to go long, BSS managed to start pretty much on time. The problem was that they were the only band during the entire festival that was allotted 45 minutes (Drew mentions this at the beginning of their set) rather than at least an hour.

Because the crowded had chanted, "one more song" and Perry Farrell had allowed Matisyahu to play another song, everyone started to do the same at the BSS set. I can honestly say that the BSS set was the best of the entire fesitval and everyone who was watching knew it. We were treated to some play-by-play from Canning while they called the main stage to ask if they could play longer. The Red Hot Chili Peppers decided that they were big stars and couldn't allow an indie rock band to steal their thunder. Instead they came out and played a pathetically bad set (even when measured against their typically horrible live performances). The crowd at the BSS stage, directly across from the Chilis, booed when they came on stage. The injustice!! ;)

We ran into Whiteman at the Hot Chip after party that night and got the explanation regarding the Chilis' decision. It was purely an ego thing. Damn did they ever suck that night... it was like having the best appetizer of your life and then having the main course brought out as a steaming pile of fly covered dog shit.

By the way, thanks for posting the music for download! I've been dying for a copy of the full show since the Lolla folks decided to only post a few of the songs for purchase. (Must have something to do with record labels or something? None of the songs including the ladies were available for download.) If anyone knows where to find a FLAC/SHN copy of the recording, please point me in that direction.

I'm listening to Fire Eyed Boy right now and this has gotta be the best performance of this song I've ever seen/heard. I was dancing my ass off! So many good memories coming back to me... Thanks again!
